Uhhh… i love Seattle.. we have awesome bands and an awesome sense of humor.

For the vast majority of my 30 years, I have been uninsured and unable to pay full price for out of pocket healthcare services. (Like a LOT of Americans!) I have relied on Planned Parenthood for yearly pelvic exams, family planning services, and general health advice for my lady parts. They are an organization that deeply cares about women’s lives and health …and for this, I love them.

In light of the recent announcement by Komen for the Cure to cut off its grants to Planned Parenthood for breast cancer screening and education programs, I urge any of you with concern for women’s lives and health to donate to Planned Parenthood.

In the past day that this news was made public, private donations to the organization have exceeded  $650,000, nearly enough to replace last year’s Komen funding! Keep it coming! :)

UPDATE 02/03/2012:
Komen for the Cure has just announced they will reinstate their funding of Planned Parenthoods Breast Cancer screening program! :)
